At Swedbank, inheritance procedures can be carried out both digitally and at a bank branch. It is not necessary for all heirs to be present at the same time.

1. Submitting the Certificate of Succession:

– A digitally signed certificate of succession and the heirs’ contact details can be sent via email to parimistunnistus@swedbank.ee.

– Usually, this information is sent to the bank by the notary who handled the succession process. Ask the notary whether they will forward the certificate of succession to the bank and how the heirs’ contact details will be provided.

– If desired, the certificate of succession can also be submitted in person at a bank branch, but an appointment must be booked in advance.

2. Swedbank’s Contact with Heirs:

– After receiving the documents, a bank representative will contact the heirs within five working days to agree on the next steps.
